The Inspiration of Stars

Stars 🌟

Punctuating the darkness, like poppy seeds. Each one infinitely older than I can comprehend. Their light sending signals, From places I shall never go or see.

Secretive seduction seems to be their aim. You can see them, but not by direct sight. Elusively holding their knowledge and wisdom, Yet allowing a peek into their multitudes.

The temptation is strong, The urge to question and ponder their existence. What could they tell us of all they have seen?

The heavens roar with their glory, Whilst we see their subtle shimmer. What possibilities lie behind their tempting twinkle?

And what can they see of us? A destructive plague upon the earth, Fighting to break into their world. But we are not ready!

Our emotional literacy, Holding us back, quite rightly. What damage could such knowledge do Whilst we still think we are in charge?

Twinkle on, bright lights Send us your morse code messages Show us our insignificance here.

Hold on to your revealment Until the day we are called- -back to the dust we once were Where all is one.

And then we may understand your demure joy Shone down upon the earth As we too take our place To shine with you.
